An opening exists for a dedicated individual with excellent communication and animal handling skills to respond to calls regarding the welfare of animals. Primary responsibilities include the investigation of cases related to animal neglect, abuse and abandonment, education of pet and livestock owners, the promotion of responsible animal care, and assisting the Animal Cruelty Task Force with the rescue of animals due to distressing conditions or disasters. This mission oriented position requires the candidate to have self motivation, excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, coupled with the knowledge of responsible pet ownership, and must display a high level of professionalism at all times. Previous animal related experience and/or investigative or security experience is required. Due to the nature of the job, weekend and on call availability is a must. This position serves the following counties, and it is required the candidate reside in one of the following: Greene, Webster, Christian, Taney, Stone, Barry, McDonald, Newton, Lawrence, Jasper, Barton, Dade, Cedar, Polk, Dallas, Vernon, St. Clair, Hickory, Bates, Henry and Benton.
