The Humane Society of Missouri is currently seeking a Program Coordinator for our Kids for Critters camp & Club HOPE (Helping Our Pets & Environment) after-school club. During the summer, this includes managing day-to-day operations of the camp, while mentoring and supervising our teen camp counselors. During the school year, this person will create lesson plans, facilitate training and provide support to our Club HOPE volunteer leaders/teachers at their various schools. The Program Coordinator will help to ensure the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices and safety protocols, helping to meet the individual needs of each participant while modeling, practicing and carrying out the values of compassion, empathy, honesty and respect for all. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, along with a minimum of 2 years classroom teaching experience. Experience teaching youth ages 6-17 is preferred, along with demonstrated knowledge and empathy toward animal welfare issues and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is also required, along with the ability to become CPR/First Aid/AED Certified within established HSMO timeline. This is a part-time, regular position with a predictable, yet flexible schedule, but also requires candidates to be available during all camp sessions (June and July) and during all scheduled Club HOPE meetings (roughly 3-6pm) on various days per month throughout the school year. This position is eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability and also includes Holiday, Vacation and Sick pay.
